It's been an extremely satisfying Aussie Open for the doubles team of Rajeev Ram and Eric Butorac.The pair faced off against Brazilians Thomaz Bellucci and Andre Sa in the first round, winning 6-3 6-4. The pair then took on seventh seeds Muriusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski from Poland. Coming down to the wire, Ram and Butorac prevailed in 6-2 3-6 7-6(2) to set up a last 16 birth against Leonardo Mayer and Horacio Zeballos from Argentina. Another epic war ensued with the Americans once again coming out on top, winning 6-7(3), 6-4 7-6(3). While the pair realize that making the quarter finals of a Grand Slam is an incredible achievement, they are hungry to play the number 1 seeds and on form duo of Bob and Mike Bryan. Ram and Butorac are confident in their abilities and are expecting another tight match.
